When you find a home away from home, you find yourself re-evaluating everything. I lived in London for a year while working as an intern in the tourism industry. I’ve been to London before many times beforehand, but I’ve never lived there for a prolonged amount of time, by myself, with the same anxieties and worries as any other Londoner. When this journey started for me, I expected a fun little detour from my ordinary life. To live life a little fuller, wilder.

I didn’t expect the city to change my life, and who I was as a person. And that is why I simply cannot move on. Because part of me, a bigger part, is still there in that city, and each time I go back to visit, I recognise it there.

Here are a few photos that I took to remember specific, life-altering moments. I wish you could’ve been there to experience it. How lonely but magical, to cherish a city this way, and my journey in it.

My first night in Citizen M, Liverpool Street.
My first day in my room in South Harrow.
Taking daily walks in Harrow, to work and back home.
Making the most of my weekends with my newfound friends.
Views from Frank’s Cafe Rooftop, Peckham.
Serene afternoons in Harrow Fields
Westminster
Italian dinners on Primrose Hill
Tourist things and busker romance, Piccadilly Circus
